The final Time Trial of Series 1 took place tonight. We had 11 participants and 3 volunteers that came out to participate. I was out of town, but our master timer was back in the saddle to make sure things ran smoothly. A big thanks to the volunteers and the participants for coming out tonight. Again, I encourage everyone to come out & try TTing...We have one Time Trial remaining for 2010, its very fun & the social atmosphere is great! Here are tonight’s results in order of increasing speed.... We had a total of 60 separate time trialist run the series 1 events….20 of which competed more than once to participate in the points race. Here are the final point standings for the RHBC Series 1 Time Trials for competitors competing in 2 or more TT’s....... In the under 18 category, Nik Reinke took 1st place with a point total of 38. Julian Patterson took 2nd place with 5 points. Good Job Nik & Julian !! In the 18-59 age group, we had a very tight race right up to the final event. Brad Buss showed that consistant major improvements is what it takes to WIN with a point total of 55. A close Second Place belongs to Kevin Freeman with a point total of 51 (riding his ever present fixie); Once again, consistant improvements yielded the most points. Third Place goes to Barb Austin with a point total of 42…Barb has been riding strong all year. Congrats to all the competitors for a successful Series 1 2010 Time Trial. The final TT for series 2 will take place on 9/29 at South Pointe High School…we may try starting a bit earlier (15-30 mins) if possible due to limited day light these days. I will confim this in the coming weeks. Again, a big thanks for our volunteers tonight!! ....Sallie, Rick and Cheryl !! The participants T-shirts are now in.....remember, just 3 races or 3 volunteers (or a mix) will get you a fancy new RHBC 2010 TT T-shirt. With one more TT in the 2010 series, there is still time to earn a Tee !! Cheers, Chris

RHBC TT Series 1 - Race 5 this Wednesday (9/8), first rider off @ 6:30, registration starts @ 5:30. We have had large turnouts for these club TT's, lets keep this trend continuing. Points are awarded on your improvement over preceding events.....your biggest competitor is yourself !! The first series course is relatively flat with a few rolling hills, this course is basically an out & back with a small loop for the turn around. The second series course involves a few more hills and will follow a complete loop. Both courses use many of the same roads as our Monday Night Rides. Everyone is encouraged to participate in the RHBC TT series this year. Overall scoring for the series is calculated solely on personal improvement and your own rolling average for the events in which you participate. This usually gives the newcomer a wheel up for placing well in the overall series. The two series will run concurrently and separately with the venues alternating. You do not have to run both series to qualify for end of year awards. There will be 5 races in each series and will be held on Wednesday evenings. First rider off at 6:30 pm...registration starts @ 5:30 Series 1 schedule (9.3 miles) New Life 7th day Adventist Church, 1375 Ogden Rd, Rock Hill April 28 May 26 Jun 30 Jul 28 Sep 8 Series 1 route can be found here: http://www.mapmyride.com/route/us/sc/rock%20hill/695126650952250228 Series 2 schedule (10.0 miles) South Pointe High School, Rock Hill - front parking lot May 12 Jun 16 Jul 14 Aug 18 Sep 29 Series 2 route can be found here: http://www.mapmyride.com/route/us/sc/rock%20hill/811126650993751376 I strongly encourage EVERYONE to participate, or at least give it a try. These are fun events and the camaraderie is fantastic. If you can ride the Monday Night Ride, there is no reason not to get involved. Cost: free ( but i will put out a donation jar...) We will be giving out very cool T-shirts to participants & volunteers if you attend 3 or more events !!!!!!! T-shirts are here, so i can start handing out to those eligible. Only RHBC members are eligible for the year end awards. If you have any questions or comments, please post on this forum or feel free to email myself. The signs are out down by Uriel Presbyterian. BBQ is on!! So the Labor Day BBQ ride will depart MNR parking lot at 9am on Monday Sept 6. Two groups planned - I'll lead the longer distance approach to the BBQ, George Davis will lead a more direct to group. Estimated long route 25-30 miles to BBQ, short route est 18 miles to BBQ. Both groups return on the same return route of ~15 miles. BBQ starts at 11am and we'll plan arrival there about 11am. About an hour of socializing and eating should have us departing to Rock Hill just after 12:00 - 12:30, arrival in RH by 1:30 or 2:00pm at the latest. Bring your good spirits and some $$ for BBQ and home-made baked goods. In years past some spouses and friends have brought vehicles to the BBQ - so folks can motor back to RH and/or send their baked goods back in a safer transport than jersey pockets. Routes are not posted so the groups have to stay together - or risk getting hopelessly lost down there somewhere in Chester Co. Hope to see you Sept 6. Regular MNR will also occur at 6pm.

I hope to see you all out at the speedway tonight cheering on our 7 club teams !!!! For those of you signed up (or coerced) for the Lowes TTT, the start times were just posted (see link). But there is a rider meeting @ 6:30 & ALL riders must sign waiver before getting the chips. I think last year, at least one team member had to attend & get the waiver signed before the chips were handed out. http://carolinatt.org/v3/assets/uploads2006/2010/TTT_9-1-10_Start_vs1.pdf To enter the speedway, you will drive around the backside to gate 5 (they will stop you to sign another waiver) go under the track & follow the road around to the farthest garage. We will be parked on the backside of this farthest garage. We should have a tent set up next to one of the garages at some point. Bring chairs/coolers if you want.....along with your bikes. Here are the TTT rules (please review) http://carolinatt.org/v3/assets/uploads2006/2010/TTT_Rules2010_posting.pdf Here is the track layout http://carolinatt.org/v3/assets/uploads2006/general%20track%20layout.pdf Let me know if anyone has any questions. We're going up early to grab a couple of garage slots on the far side & some parking space to put up a tent...i'm also doing the ITT before the TTT. Thanks, Chris

In the spirit of offering sufficient time for discussion, I am posting now that I won't be Spring Races Director for 2011. With this good lead time perhaps someone can accept the role and direct the 2011 version. We have a good body of resources in many members of the Club who have directed and managed various parts of the Spring Races over the years - so I know whoever wishes to be the Director will have good people to assist him or her. I, as one of several previous Race Directors, am a resource if a new Director wishes to consult, or use in a limited role. And I realize my decision means the Club may not have a Race Director, or have Spring Races for 2011. I hope not, though we as a Club should prepare for that eventuality too. Thoughts? Comments? Volunteer?
