We aren't getting much response for volunteers for this year's race. And I think we know how important the race is to the financial health of our Club. We garner recognition from hosting the Races, not only among the competitors but also among the City/County and our community.
We have some large and many small roles to be filled. Stan is working and pleading for volunteer help. If he doesn't get his needs with volunteers we will hire the help we need - which will break our budget.
Another option is to cancel the races. Bad move I think, but if we can't do it then we can't do it. Please contact Stan or myself to indicate your availability to help.
How about a signup sheet at the Monday Night Ride and a personal invite to each rider by a club member. There should be plenty of RHBCmembers there so it shouldn't take too long. I'm sure many of those folks who enjoy the RHBC providing them a ride each week for several years now would volunteer to work just a day or two.
Russ, I'm not sure how to break the work down to smaller jobs, without significantly increasing the demand for bodies. Read through the top post on the forum, which explains the needs, and see if you can suggest a better way.
