Wednesday Night Time Trial Series { Download pdf for TT Series Info and Results}
The purpose of the time trial series is to give each rider an individual measure of their 'fitness' by establishing their time over a 10-mile road course.

Venue
SC-321 south of York, SC. Start/finish is at Jefferson Elementary School. Parking available in their parking lot adjacent to the highway. They are kind enough to host us, so please treat their property with respect, and clean up after yourself. No bathrooms will be available on site. There are ample side roads nearby to warm up on.

Course
Five miles out and five miles back. SC 321 has consistent flat to rolling terrain with good pavement and a wide paved shoulder for safety. The course will be marked at 1-mile intervals, 200m before turn around, and at the turnaround. We will not place a cone in the middle of the highway. At the turnaround, there is a paved parking lot if you need it. There will be a TT official at the turn around. They will be there to help warn you of traffic behind. However, it is solely the rider’s responsibility to make a safe and lawful u-turn. The official will award bonus time to riders whose turns are impeded by traffic. They will also penalize time if you cut it short. Their decisions to award, or take away, time are final and are not open to debate.

Dates
The 2008 Time Trial dates are May 21, June 4, June 25, July 23, August 6, August 27 and September 24. They will also be posted on our ride calendar...

Time
First rider off at 6:30 PM EST. Successive riders go in either 30 or 60 second intervals dependent on number of riders. This will be decided by the starting official and they will notify the riders before the TT. It is possible that the starting time will be moved up to 6:00 for the last event in September. Check website for updates.

Fee
There will be a $2 fee for each rider to cover insurance expenses, etc.

Waivers
Each rider will need to sign the standard RHBC liability waiver.

Helmets
Required to be worn whenever you are on your bike.

Points Systems
There will be trophies and prizes to the top male and female points leader at the end of the year. While anyone can participate in the TT, the points competition is open to Rock Hill Bicycle Club members only. (See pddf for details.)

Cotton Pickin’ Metric Century { 2005 Event Photos}
Every Fall the RHBC sponsors the Cotton Pickin’ Metric Century ride, which draws over 500 riders of all abilities to tour the back roads of York County. The ride takes cyclists through the beautiful and historic fields of Chester. This year's ride begins in downtown Chester, SC in conjunction with the city's annual fall festival, HILLarity. Download a brochure for more information on the ride or visit Active.com for details and to register now!

The Rock Hill Bicycle Club proudly donates $2 of your Cotton Pickin’ entry fees to the Palmetto Cycling coalition.

Monday Night Ride
During the Spring, Summer and Fall months the RHBC hosts a weekly Monday night “Hospitality” ride which draws close to 75 riders for all levels of social riding. Highlighted in nationally distributed Bicycling Magazine, the ride gives the club an opportunity to share the beauty of our area with new members, to teach riding safety and promote healthy living. After the ride, dozens of cyclists remain in the area to dine, shop and socialize.

Annual Chili Ride { 2006 Ride Photos}
The Rock Hill Bicycle Club hosts an Annual “Chili Ride” to start the New Year off right with friends, fun and fellowship! The ride is a short and the pace is easy so that all can participate. After a chilly ride we enjoy gallons of chili, cornbread and all the fixins. Lots of hot and cold beverages. Riding is not required so you can come just to eat— bring your spouse or friend. If you have a special desert please bring one. New Years Resolutions are always a fun topic for discussion so be prepared to discuss yours.

MS 150 Phyllis’s Flyers
The MS Bike Tour, marking its 26th anniversary, is the largest organized cycling event in America with 100 tours to choose from in 48 states. About 100,000 cyclists participated in the 2005 MS Bike Tour, raising $59 million to fight MS.

Each MS Bike Tour is fully supported with frequent, well-stocked rest stops, mechanical support, and even someone to give you a lift if you need a rest. The RHBC has organized a team in support of the MS 150 ride for more than 20 years. Under the leadership of co-captains Phyllis and Wes Martin, the team has been recognized numerous times for their exemplary fund-raising efforts. If you are interested in becoming part of Phyllis's Flyers please contact the Martins today!
